Government & public safety

Your primary network, or a resilience layer alongside it.

PTT NZ can be deployed as an agency's complete primary cellular network with full tri-network access, or run alongside an existing network as an independent resilience layer that takes over the instant it drops — native NZ and Australian access, local breakouts in Auckland and Sydney, and zero-firmware remote provisioning either way.

Two deployment models, one platform

Not restricted to backup-only. It's the agency's choice.

Full Primary Network

Complete tri-network cellular access — Spark, One NZ and 2degrees natively in New Zealand, plus native Australian access — deployed as an agency's entire primary connectivity, with no existing carrier required.

Complementary Resilience Layer

PTT NZ sits alongside an agency's existing primary network as an additional, independent layer of connectivity, automatically taking over the moment the existing network loses data.

How the platform supports either model

The same architecture, deployed your way.

Deployed your way — primary or backup

PTT NZ can run as an agency's complete primary cellular network, or alongside an existing one as an independent resilience layer. There's no restriction on which model an agency chooses.

Local sovereignty, local breakouts

Native Local Breakouts in Auckland and Sydney mean domestic and trans-Tasman public-safety traffic stays resilient even if international undersea fibre circuits are disrupted — no offshore hop in the path.

Domestic, secure management

Management infrastructure is hosted redundantly within New Zealand — Christchurch and Auckland — behind strong credential policies and mandatory multi-layer two-factor authentication.

Zero-touch, zero-firmware provisioning

Profile changes are pushed server-side using the eUICC / SGP.22 remote SIM provisioning standard — no firmware updates and no LPA changes required on the endpoint device itself.

If running as a complementary layer

Priority order is fully configurable, either way.

When deployed alongside an existing network, an agency's carrier profile can be loaded and run as Priority One on the same multi-IMSI SIM, with PTT NZ's tri-network access automatically taking over as Priority Two the instant it loses data — then handing back once the primary path is healthy again. The order can be reversed, or PTT NZ can simply run as the sole primary network with no second profile at all.

Network architecture

Native access, not a roaming profile.

NZ triple-network resilience

Native connectivity across all three New Zealand mobile networks — Spark, One NZ and 2degrees — on a single multi-IMSI SIM or eSIM, not a single-carrier roaming profile.

Native Australian access

Direct local network agreements provide native (not roaming) access to Telstra Direct/Retail, Optus and Vodafone across Australia.

On-card local switching

Multi-IMSI profile selection can occur locally on the SIM itself, so a device can still switch to the strongest available network even during a temporary loss of central portal connectivity.

Rules-based remote control

Failover order, default profile and APN configuration can all be updated remotely and centrally under defined rules, without a technician visiting the device or vehicle.

Far more than sensors

Built for the hardware public safety actually carries.

This isn't an IoT-only platform. The same multi-network SIM estate covers the full range of field devices an agency deploys day to day.

First-responder phones
Rugged field tablets
Vehicle & fixed routers
Hotspot modems
Cellular radios
Security & management

Domestically hosted, tightly locked down.

Management infrastructure runs redundantly across Christchurch and Auckland — never offshore — behind strong credential policies and mandatory multi-layer two-factor authentication. Profile and APN changes are pushed using the eUICC / SGP.22 remote SIM provisioning standard, entirely server-side, with no firmware update and no on-device LPA change required.

Domestic & zero-firmware
  • Redundant NZ hosting — Christchurch & Auckland
  • Mandatory multi-layer two-factor authentication
  • eUICC / SGP.22 OTA provisioning, no firmware changes
FAQ

Government & public safety, answered.

It can, if that's what an agency wants — PTT NZ can be deployed as a complete primary network with full tri-network cellular access. Equally, it can run alongside an existing network as a complementary resilience layer. Both deployment models are fully supported; the choice sits entirely with the agency.

It's fully configurable. In the complementary model, most deployments run the agency's existing carrier profile as Priority One with PTT NZ's tri-network access as an automatic Priority Two failover — though this can be reversed, or PTT NZ can be deployed as the sole primary network entirely.

Redundantly within New Zealand, across Christchurch and Auckland, behind strong credential policies and mandatory multi-layer two-factor authentication (2FA).

No. Profile provisioning uses the eUICC / SGP.22 remote SIM provisioning standard, applied server-side. There's no firmware update and no on-device LPA change required.

Multi-IMSI profile selection can occur locally on the SIM itself, so a device can continue switching to the strongest available network even without a live connection back to the central management portal.

Far more than sensors — first-responder phones, rugged field tablets, vehicle and fixed routers, hotspot modems and cellular radios are all supported on the same multi-network SIM platform.

Because traffic breaks out locally in Auckland (NZ) and Sydney (AU) rather than routing overseas, domestic and trans-Tasman public-safety communications remain resilient even during an international undersea fibre disruption.
